As I have continued to go back and use Harvey Mackay’s newest book, “Use your head to get your foot in the door”, there is one of the stats that continues to jump out at me:

77% of people hate their jobs.

Wow! I am a strong believer that if you don’t like your job, get a different job! Why waste your time, energy, and life doing something that you don’t like to do? Life is way too short my friends. What kind of “Energy” do these people that hate their jobs carry with them? Yep, you guessed it, NEGATIVE! They suck the life out of everyone and everything around them because all they do is complain, whine, and moan about how everyone has it easier and better than them. I guarantee you that “ENERGY is Everything” and if a person keeps putting that kind of ENERGY out into the world, that is exactly what will continue to come back for them.

Success comes to those that continue to invest into themselves, yet if you don’t have a plan you may not be able to achieve the levels of success you deserve to achieve. Following this plan will allow you to grow and develop into a success – personally and professionally.

The starting point is to have a vision/goal for what is it you desire to achieve. What will you focus on becoming an Expert in? Once you have decided that, then it is time to follow the R & D Framework of Success.

RESEARCH: Do your homework. In order to be the best, you must study and learn from the best. Do what they are doing, learn what is working, what is not working, and how you may do things differently to continue to build on their success and take it to the next level. You must continuously be learning and researching in order to stay in the forefront of knowledge.

ROLE MODEL: Having a role model is key to your development. Identify people that have had success in your area of vision/goals and study every aspect of their success. Success leaves clues, so do what they have done and look to advance things even further as you gain your own experience.

The definition of renewal is:

1. To make new or as if new again; restore.
2. To regain vigor; revive.
3. To replenish; to bring into being again.

Wow! Anyone out there that could use a little Renewal every once in awhile? Absolutely! And I know for myself that if I don’t make a conscious decision to Renew, I will find myself so “busy” with life that my health, relationships, and possibilities of success suffer.

As I travel the country speaking, training, and consulting/coaching, it is a common question of how do I maintain my level of ENERGY and PASSION for life? There are many aspects to the answer of that question, but it comes down to one simple focus and question.
